Both start and end dates are included when counting working days. Add your own holiday list — public holidays differ by state, employer and year.

How to use this calculator

  1. Choose the start date and the end date.
  2. Select your working week.
  3. Add holidays that fall in the range, if any.
  4. Read the working-day total and the breakdown below it.

Formula

Working days = Calendar days − Weekly offs − Holidays on working days

Worked example

Between 1 April and 15 April with a Monday–Friday week, there are 15 calendar days. If four of them fall on a weekend, you get 11 working days — 10 if one company holiday falls in the range.

Assumptions

  • The end date must be on or after the start date.
  • Both dates are included in the count.

Limitations

Only the holidays you enter are excluded. Regional and employer-specific holidays are not assumed, because they vary across India.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I count working days between two dates?

Count all calendar days in the range, then remove the weekly offs and any holidays that fall on a working day. This calculator does that automatically.

Does the count include both dates?

Yes, the range is inclusive of the start and end date.

Can I use this for notice periods and project planning?

Yes. It is useful for notice periods, project timelines, leave planning and billing periods where only working days matter.
