How to use this calculator

  1. Enter your current annual CTC in rupees.
  2. Type a hike percentage or tap one of the quick percentage buttons.
  3. Read your new CTC, annual increase and monthly equivalents in the result card.
  4. Switch to reverse mode if you already know both salaries and want the hike percentage.

Formula

New CTC = Current CTC × (1 + Hike % ÷ 100)

Monthly equivalent = Annual CTC ÷ 12

Hike % = ((New CTC − Current CTC) ÷ Current CTC) × 100

Worked example

Suppose your current CTC is ₹6,00,000 per year (6 LPA) and you receive a 20% hike.

New CTC = ₹6,00,000 × 1.20 = ₹7,20,000 (7.2 LPA). The annual increase is ₹1,20,000, your monthly CTC equivalent moves from ₹50,000 to ₹60,000, and the monthly increase is ₹10,000.

Assumptions

  • The hike is applied to the full annual CTC, not only to a fixed component.
  • Monthly figures are simply the annual amount divided by twelve.
  • Variable pay and bonuses are treated as part of CTC if you include them in the input.

Limitations

This tool does not compute income tax, PF, professional tax or take-home salary, and it does not know your employer's salary structure. Treat the output as an estimate for comparison and planning, not as a payslip projection or financial advice.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I calculate a salary hike on my CTC?

Multiply your current CTC by (1 + hike ÷ 100). A 20% hike on ₹6,00,000 gives ₹6,00,000 × 1.20 = ₹7,20,000.

Is a 10% hike good in India?

It depends on your role, city, experience and whether it is an internal appraisal or a job change. Internal appraisals are often in single digits to low double digits, while job changes tend to be higher. Use the calculator to compare offers on the same basis.

Does a hike on CTC increase my in-hand salary by the same percentage?

Not always. Some of the increase can go into employer PF, variable pay or benefits, and a higher salary can move you into higher tax deductions. Use the In-Hand Salary Increase Calculator for a monthly estimate.

How do I find the hike percentage if I already know both salaries?

Switch the calculator to reverse mode and enter your current and new CTC. It applies ((New − Old) ÷ Old) × 100.
